Brock Purdy completed 20 of 22 passes for 287 yards with two passing touchdowns and a rushing score in a 35-13 win over Miami at Levi's Stadium, finishing with a 149.1 passer rating. San Francisco scored touchdowns on each of its first five drives, something it had not done since the 1991 season, and started 2-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1995-96. The defense held the Dolphins to three field goals until a late 77-yard touchdown pass in garbage time.

Christian McCaffrey scored two 1-yard touchdowns in the win over Miami to reach 100 for his career, becoming the fourth-fastest player in the Super Bowl era to hit the mark in 114 games. Only LaDainian Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith and Shaun Alexander got there faster. He also became just the third player ever with at least 50 touchdowns for two franchises, joining Marshall Faulk and Randy Moss.

The 49ers lost another receiver when Demarcus Robinson left in the second quarter with a high-ankle sprain that would later land him on injured reserve. Mike Evans also left in the fourth quarter with a hip injury, though it was not considered serious. The team was already without Ricky Pearsall, rookie De'Zhaun Stribling and tight end Jake Tonges, yet Purdy kept producing at an elite level without his top weapons.

George Kittle led all pass catchers with 80 yards on four receptions and scored his first touchdown since tearing his Achilles back in January. The performance was a sharp rebound from a quiet Week 1 in his return from the injury. Kittle's touchdown, along with scoring catches from Evans and fullback Kyle Juszczyk, highlighted a day when the veteran weapons all looked fresh.
