The Associated Press reported Thursday that Jauan Jennings agreed to a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings that could be worth up to $13 million. The Vikings added him as a needed third option behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, replacing Jalen Nailor. Jennings spent five seasons in San Francisco, catching 55 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, and the 49ers had already reshaped the room by signing Mike Evans and Christian Kirk and drafting De'Zhaun Stribling.

Because Jennings signed with Minnesota after the 2026 NFL Draft, his departure does not factor into the league's compensatory pick formula. Only unrestricted free agents who sign with new teams before the draft count toward future compensatory selections. The 49ers drafted Jennings in the seventh round in 2020 and developed him into a key contributor over five seasons.

The 49ers announced Friday that six of their eight draft picks had signed four-year deals: De'Zhaun Stribling, Kaelon Black, Carver Willis, Ephesians Prysock, Jaden Dugger and Enrique Cruz Jr. Stribling's contract as the No. 33 pick was fully guaranteed at $13.376 million with a $6.188 million signing bonus, per Aaron Wilson. Seven undrafted free agents also signed, leaving only Romello Height and Gracen Halton unsigned from the class.

Stribling spoke to reporters at rookie minicamp on May 8 and said he admired two-time All-Pro Mike Evans growing up, calling the chance to learn from him special. The rookie highlighted Evans' ability to use his size while staying quick off the line, especially on contested catches and releases. San Francisco overhauled its receiver room this offseason by signing Evans to a three-year deal worth up to $60.4 million, adding Christian Kirk, and drafting Stribling.

Williams, the 2025 No. 11 overall pick whose rookie season ended with a torn ACL and lateral meniscus in Week 9, was observed doing mobility and resistance work on a side field during minicamp, per the San Francisco Chronicle. General manager John Lynch said in March that both Williams and Nick Bosa should be ready for training camp in a ramped-up capacity, with Bosa further along in his recovery. The 49ers finished last season with an NFL-low 20 sacks after losing both edge rushers to knee injuries.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah ranked all 32 draft classes by value against his top-150 prospect board, and the 49ers finished dead last. San Francisco earned 172 points against an expected 340 for its draft slots, a 50.6 percent return, while the Colts led the list at 174.2 percent above expected. The ranking reflected the widespread criticism that the 49ers reached on several picks, though Jeremiah's method remains subjective before any snaps are played.
