Reported guarantees included $280,000 for Thompson and $275,000 for Dinkins.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said Monday on The Pat McAfee Show that the 49ers are ready to move on from Aiyuk and have made it known they would trade him for anything, but no deal is close. The obstacle, per Schefter, is that other teams have had a hard time getting ahold of the receiver, just like San Francisco has. Any acquiring team would also have to assume his current contract, which further stalls the market.

The 49ers officially announced the signings of running back Sincere McCormick and safety Patrick McMorris to one-year contracts on April 28. McCormick, 25, entered the league as a Raiders undrafted free agent in 2022 and spent 2025 bouncing between practice squads in San Francisco, Arizona, Denver and Minnesota. McMorris, a 2024 Dolphins sixth-round pick, appeared in six games across the Dolphins, Giants and Cardinals organizations.

NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter gave the 49ers an A- overall for their eight-player class, with an A on Day 1, an A- on Day 2 and an A on Day 3. Reuter praised San Francisco for wisely trading down twice in the first round to stockpile mid-round capital and called Gracen Halton very good value early in the fourth round. He also noted the team added veteran pass-rushing tackle Osa Odighizuwa via trade with its original third-round pick.

Kyle Shanahan told The Rich Eisen Show on Thursday that he was worried going into the draft because the strength of the class sat in the second and third rounds, where the 49ers had just one pick. He feared the team might walk away with only four players when it needed contributors for both 2026 and 2027. Instead, five trades turned six picks into eight, and Shanahan said all eight draftees have a very good chance to make the roster.

Shanahan pushed back on criticism that Indiana running back Kaelon Black was a reach at No. 90, saying the 49ers had him as the second-rated back in the draft. Black did not receive a combine invite and most mocks projected him as a Day 3 pick, but he averaged 5.6 yards per carry and scored 10 touchdowns for Indiana's 2025 national championship team. Shanahan called the evaluation right or wrong, it was theirs, and argued the risk of waiting was not worth losing a targeted player.
